Cardiovascular health is even more important during a pandemic. Million Hearts® collaborated with the CDC Foundation to develop a new campaign to remind people in the United States to make cardiovascular health a priority, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The focus is to encourage all adults, especially those 55 and older to be active, eat healthy, and schedule those regular medical appointments.
Be an active part of your healthcare by:
Tracking your health information and sharing it with someone in your family should they need to access it for you.
Know your family's health history
See your primary physician for regular checkups
Prepare for these checkups with any questions or concerns you may have, changes in your health, any recent health issues that were managed by a specialist
Sometimes it’s easier to ask the nurse some of your questions also
Ask your pharmacist any questions about medications especially conflicts with other meds since this is often overlooked and also for over-the-counter meds, since your pharmacist won’t know your over-the-counter meds. Medication conflicts can cause significant issues! Take your medications as prescribed!
